Short Intro to Bridge
Upcoming lessons using Audrey Grant's Basic Bridge Series. If interested in any of these courses, please call the Bridge Center 716-424-0014 and leave your name and phone number. We will have a bridge teacher return your call to go over the course you are interested in and what you will learn.
Starts October 1st, 2026. Meets from 1-3pm Thursdays for 10 weeks. Starts at the beginning, introducing the mechanics of the game including basic bidding, card play and defense. Topics covered are simple no trump, major and minor suit openings and responses.
Winter 2027 for 10 weeks. The concepts needed when both sides are bidding for the contract. It introduces the basic competitive tools – preemptive opening bids, overcalls, and takeout doubles – as used in today's game. The material is presented in a clear and well-organized format, showing how to use the various competitive options to best advantage.
Starts September 9, 2026. Meets from 2:30-4:30pm Wednesdays for 10 weeks. Popular Conventions teaches you the core conventions that will strengthen your game. It introduces you to the Stayman conventions, Jacoby transfer bids, the strong artificial two club opening, Blackwood and Gerber

The Bridge Center holds a "Short Intro to Bridge" — a fun-filled workshop featuring a brief overview of the history of bridge, basic bidding and card playing strategies, and the opportunity to play actual bridge hands. Please join us and bring a friend!”
A weekly opportunity for newer or returning bridge players to hone their
bridge skills. Players will gain confidence in bidding, declarer and defensive play, scoring and the use of a convention card, as well as learning the mechanics and etiquette of duplicate bridge. A student game is held on the last Monday of the month, providing players the ability to
earn Master Points.

Funded by Unit 116, mentors are available to non-Life Masters who are interested in improving their game. Mentees must commit to playing five duplicate games with their mentors, who in turn will share their knowledge of bridge, providing feedback in real time. Both players pay their own entry fees and the Unit reimburses the mentor after the five sessions.
